The Fight Gives Strength Somewhere to Go
Fear has no clear shape.
It moves around in your mind.
It creates possibilities.
It builds stories.
It asks questions you cannot answer.
What if this happens?
What if that happens?
What if I lose this?
What if I cannot handle that?
And because there is nothing real yet to face,
your strength gets scattered.
But when the moment becomes real,
something changes.
The diagnosis comes.
The job ends.
The relationship shifts.
The court date arrives.
The doctor gives you the report.
The decision has to be made.
And suddenly,
as hard as it may be,
there is a path.
You make the call.
You ask for counsel.
You weigh the options.
You choose the treatment.
You show up for the appointment.
You learn the routine.
You do the next thing.
That does not mean the path is easy.
It only means your strength now has somewhere to go.
I have learned that fear can wear you out
before the fight ever begins.
But the fight itself can focus you.
When you are in it,
you are no longer just imagining the future.
You are walking.
You are facing.
You are doing what is yours to do.
The path may be hard.
But at least there is a path to walk.
