Direction Creates Resistance
I have learned that direction creates resistance.
As long as you are drifting, there is not much to resist.
You can talk about change.
Think about change.
Pray about change.
Dream about change.
And still never disturb anything.
But the moment you choose a direction, resistance shows up.
Not always because you are wrong.
Sometimes because you finally started moving.
A boat sitting still does not feel the current the same way a boat turning toward a destination does.
A person without direction can avoid discipline for a long time. But once you decide where you are going, you also discover what has to be corrected, released, strengthened, and faced.
That is why direction can feel like trouble at first.
You start noticing the habits that have been wasting your time.
You start seeing the relationships that drain your energy.
You start feeling the weight of decisions you avoided.
You start realizing that desire alone will not get you there.
Direction requires discipline.
And discipline always exposes resistance.
But resistance is not always your enemy.
Sometimes resistance is the pressure that forms strength.
Sometimes it is the evidence that your life is no longer wandering.
Sometimes it is the cost of finally becoming honest about where you are going.
Do not assume resistance means stop.
Sometimes it means keep walking.
